Supporting SEL in the First 6 Weeks of School

As the new school year begins, San Luis Obispo County educators are encouraged to explore the #First6WeeksSEL Challenge, a national effort organized by SEL4US. The initiative focuses on helping educators intentionally integrate social-emotional learning (SEL) into their classroom routines during the first six weeks of school.
The challenge offers a series of weekly SEL-focused activities designed to strengthen classroom community, foster positive relationships, and support student well-being. Each week highlights a specific theme and provides simple strategies that can be adapted across grade levels and subject areas.
Educators can follow @SEL4US on social media to access the weekly activities and resources. Participation is flexible—teachers can use the materials that best fit their classroom needs and pacing.
This is a valuable opportunity to prioritize connection and create a strong foundation for the year ahead. To learn more or follow along, search #First6WeeksSEL on social media.
